Rev.Julie Flowers preaches "Exultation!" as our final installment of the Advent worship series Moving through the Dark. The joy of Christmas is the knowledge that God will walk with us in the darkness, supporting our need for courage to act against the darkness by trusting in God. And we will emerge with great joy! She draws from Isaiah 9: 2-7 and Matthew 1: 18-23. Special music and prayer round out the service.

This is the Third Sunday in Advent, when we light the Trust Candle, and also  Music Sunday at First Baptist Church in  Beverly. Dr. Daniel Johnson's meditation is "Breathe," drawing inspiration from Luke 1: 39-56, focussing on how Mary trusted God, and how God trusted Mary.  The service provides special music from the Vocal Choir, the Celebration Ringers, and the Worship Ensemble.
